Oh well, I got some time for translating, so here is the lyrics of Kunstliche Welten by Wolfsheim + my translation...

Ich komm´ zu dir
halt´ deine Hand
wir gehen gemeinsam durch dies wunderbare Land
das ich für dich erfand
mit mathematischem Verstand

Ref.: ein Wunder hier
ein Traum gleich dort
grad´ noch hier und doch schon fort
ich zeige dir mein Angesicht
doch du siehst mich nicht

Ich weiß genau was dir gefällt
ich schaff dir eine neue Zauberwelt
in der kein Regen fällt
in der nur deine Wahrheit zählt

Ich zeig dir Berge
zeig dir Seen
hier brauchst du alles nur mit meinen Augen sehen
und nicht zu verstehen
keine Angst du kannst ruhig mit mir gehen

In ein großes All
ganz für dich allein
hier kannst du endlich mal du selber sein
im Neon-sonnenschein
fang ich dir deine Wünsche ein

I come to you and reach for your hand
Together we travel through this wunderful land
that I created for you with mathemathical wisdom

Chorus:
A wonder here, a dream already there
Seconds ago here and yet already there
I show you my face, but you don't see me

I still know what you like
I introduce you to your magical world
in which no rain falls and only your own truth counts

I show you mountains, I show you lakes
Here you only have to watch all through my eyes and not think of anything
Have no fear, you can come with me

I a great "everything" for yourself alone, here you can finally be yourself
Under neon sunshine I will make your wishes start to come true

To me this definitely sounds autistic, especially if you see the video that comes with it. But the whole lyrics about escapism into a dream world definitely have an aspie feeling.

PS sorry for the translation's flaws at some points, the more metaphorical words and playing with words is hard to translate without losing the poetic feeling.

Pere Ubu, "Final Solution"

The girls won't touch me
Cos I've got a misdirection
Living at night isn't helping my complexion
The signs all saying it's a social infection
A little bit of fun's never been an insurrection

Mamma threw me out till I get some pants that fit
She just won't approve of my strange kind of wit
I get so excited, always gotta lose
Man that send me off
Let them take the cure

Don't need a cure
Need a final solution

Buy me a ticket to a sonic reduction
Guitars gonna sound like a nuclear destruction
Seems I'm a victim of natural selection
Meet me on the other side, another direction

Don't need a cure
Need a final solution

I
New blood joins this earth
And quickly he's subdued
Through constant pained disgrace
The young boy learns their rules

II
What I've felt, what I've known
Turn the pages, turn the stone
Behind the door, should I open it for you

III
Was he the one causing pain
With his careless dreaming?
Been afraid, always afraid,
Of the things he's feeling.
He could just be gone.

Respectively from The Unforgiven I, II, and III by Metallica

Anybody else feeling this trilogy? I find I've always enjoyed Metallica's lyrics, and how often they reflect my mind. For you who brought up "Solitary Shell" by Dream Theater, stop cheating. lol. Considering it's acknowledgment to be specifically written about an autistic, I imagine its anthem credentials to be impressive.

You labeled me
I'll label you
So I dub the unforgiven

Decided to break into two posts considering the considerable style difference of each artist.

I don't imagine many of you have listened to Buck 65, few are privy to his musings outside Canada. I give him very high regard as both a poet and musician, as he is amazingly inventive in both areas.

The Suffering Machine

Jacket and shoes, pistols and pens
Poor boy, feels like -- I ain't got no friends
I wake up nervous, Sunday is gloomy
Eyes on the sidewalk look right through me

I hear myself breathing, trying to focus
Goodbye Babylon, wandering hopeless
The drifter, singing the lament of a non-tryer
The isolation makes me want to set myself on fire
I don't live anywhere

463

running for my life, i was cursed by a talking snake
i'd walk all day and throw rocks across a bottomless lake.
there was a killer in the woods who would whistle.
once in a while i could hear him shoot his pistol.
and the other kids hated me...but like a martyr,
i drove myself harder and harder
blood in my eyes, scrubbing to get the dirt off
i didn't say much, didn't like to take my shirt off
i was quick but i didn't know the meaning of pain yet
i would visit father bob and he would show me his train set,
tell me a story, offer me a glass of milk
send me on my way with a question to ask myself
the rain didn't bother me the search had meaning
church was good but i'd rather be dreaming.
high speed horseshoes, harnesses and heavy string
the problem is, today they got an answer for everything.

and lastly, from Drunk Without Drinking, my personal favorite:

My daily routine is down to a system
I give regular people truth and wisdom
That's what I do - it's my job - the (prophet/profit)
I can see the future and make money off it...

Is Buck 65 part of the Anticon collective? I think I may have downloaded a few of his tracks. Cool stuff.

I had totally forgotten about that Pere Ubu song. The lyrics themselves are a great "aspie anthem" but it's also the the "awkward" music and his strained voice that adds to the frustration and anger in that song, if I remember correctly.

I think one really good aspie song is Weezer's "pork and beans" song.

Some of the lyrics are:

"I'm gonna do the things that I wanna do,

I ain't got a thing to prove to you,

I eat my candy with the pork and beans,

Excuse my manners if I make a scene,

I ain't gonna wear the clothes that you like,

I'm fine and dandy with the me inside,

One look in the mirror and I'm tickled pink,

I don't give a hoot about what you think."

Yeah.. That's quite a bit of an Aspie anthem.

A few songs by The Weakerthans are sort of, my slight aspie anthems...

Measure me in metered lines
And one decisive stare
The time it takes to get from here to there
My ribs that show through t-shirts
And these shoes I got for free
I'm unconsoled
I'm lonely
I am so much better than I used to be
Terrified of telephones
And shopping malls and knives
Drowning in the pools of other lives
Rely a bit too heavily
On alcohol and irony
Get clobbered on by courtesy
In love with love and lousy poetry

And I'm leaning on this broken fence
Between past and present tense
And I'm losing all those stupid games
That I swore I'd never play
But it almost feels okay

I've got to agree with How Soon is Now and I am a Rock, they've both been my firm favourites since, well, whenever. I must confess I like the Snake River Conspiracy cover of HSIN, but they're something of an acquired taste.

Red Rubber Ball... wow, I never heard the Cyrkle version before. Only S&G's version and their spoken intro "...and a group called the Cyrkle beat us to it and sold 890,000 copies..."

aquales: yes, he was briefly involved with the anticon collective. If you heard him then though, I'd recommend listening through Secret House Against The World. It's very rare case these days, where you can witness growth and evolution.

Just thought of another song I've enjoyed recently.

Bother by Stone Sour

Wish I was too dead to cry
My self-affliction fades
Stones to throw at my creator
Masochists to which I cater
You don't need to bother;
I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on,
I won't let go 'til it bleeds

Wish I was too dead to care
If indeed I cared at all
Never had a voice to protest
So you fed me s**t to digest
I wish I had a reason;
my flaws are open season
For this, I gave up trying
One good turn deserves my dying

You don't need to bother;
I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on,
I won't let go 'til it bleeds

Wish I'd died instead of lived
A zombie hides my face
Shell forgotten
with its memories
Diaries left
with cryptic entries

And you don't need to bother;
I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on,
I won't let go 'til it bleeds

You don't need to bother;
I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on:
I'll never live down my deceit

For anyone who's reading you are probably going to see me around this thread quite a bit. My music collection is one such a topic of intense interest for me, so If I tend to derail the thread, let me know.

Well, when I'm alone, just sorta observing social situations and having a frigging clue about how much of a farce the structure can be: -

Bad Religion - The Handshake

every time you shake someone's hand and it feels like your best friend,
could it be that it's only superficiality?,
without regard to well-being, without an inkling of compromise,
handshakes are nothing but a subtle "f**k you",
contracts determine the best friendships

this is the way of the modern world, everyone's vying for patronage,
this is the way of the modern world, and something has gotta give

every time you shake someone's hand,
and you share neither color or creed,
you gotta overcome the obstacles of history,
there is restrained passion, mistrust, and bigotry

and these have created the new foundations of society,
there's no harmony just class and race

this is the way of the modern world,
everyone's fighting for dominance,
this is the way of the modern world,
and something has gotta give

now I believe in unity, and I am willing to compromise,
but I'm not gonna lie or sell my soul

every time you shake someone's hand,
it determines where you stand,
and if you won't uphold your side then it's better to
fend for yourself, and shun the handshake,
someone's gotta give

Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day for the lines:
"I walk a lonely road
The only one I that have ever known
Don't know were it goes
But its home and I walk alone"
and
"My shadows the only one that walks beside me
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find
Till then I'll walk alone"

Frozen by Within Temptation for the lines:
"I can’t feel my senses, I just feel the cold
All colors seem to fade away, I can’t reach my soul
I would stop running, If I knew there was a chance
It tears me apart to sacrifice it all but I’m forced to let go"
and the last line in the refrain
"You say that I’m frozen but what can I do?"

Last but not least is part of Tokio Hotel's Forgotten Children
"lost and so alone
born but never known
left all on their own
forgotten children"

I thought of two Velvet Underground songs

'Candy Says'

Candy says I've come to hate my body
and all that it requires in this world
Candy says I'd like to know completely
what others so discretely talk about

Candy says I hate the quiet places
that cause the smallest taste of what will be
Candy says I hate the big decisions
that cause endless revisions in my mind

I'm gonna watch the blue birds fly over my shoulder
I'm gonna watch them pass me by
Maybe when I'm older
What do you think I'd see
If I could walk away from me

'Afterhours'

1-2-3
If you close the door, the night could last forever
Keep the sunshine out and say hello to never
All the people are dancing and they're havin such fun
I wish it could happen to me
But if you close the door, I'd never have to see the day again.

If you close the door, the night could last forever,
Leave the wineglass out and drink a toast to never
Oh, someday I know someone will look into my eyes
And say hello -- you're my very special one--
But if you close the door, I'd never have to see the day again.

Dark cloudy bars
Shiny Cadillac cars
And the people on subways and trains
Looking gray in the rain as they stand disarrayed
All the people look well in the dark
And if you close the door, the night could last forever.
Leave the sunshine out and say hello to never
All the people are dancing and they're having such fun
I wish it could happen to me
'Cause if you close the door, I'd never have to see the day again.
I'd never have to see the day again.
(once more)
I'd never have to see the day again.

Garth Brooks - THE DANCE

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I the king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance

4 Walls by Staind is mine. I feel depressed about being like this. I feel hemmed in by mental walls and the walls of my room. I don't want to be like this. The thoughts from my mind ask for sanity, no for this I beg. :(

^ That's one of my aspie anthems!

I tend to have sections of different songs too, some (aside from Frozen) being:

"I feel like I was born
For devastation and reform
Destroying everything I love and the worst part is
Pull my heart out reconstruct
Till the end there's nothing but
A shell of what I had when I first started." (Devastation and Reform - Reliant K)

"Take away these lines
This world beats all around me but nothing here feeds to satisfy
So I've grown this face
Perfect in disguise so you don't know what I feel each moment

and I don't fit here
I feel I don't fit anywhere

I feel like I'm lost in this game so...

Take away these lines
It's making no sense to me
But we don't care
Let's see if I can change
And break these lines
It's making no sense to me
But we don't care
I'll see if I can change..." (Lines - Dead Letter Circus)
