Point Counter Point by Aldous Huxley. I like it so far but I'm only on page 50 and it's over 400 pages.

Just finished "Born on a Blue Day" by Daniel Tammet, which was rather good, mostly.

Two thirds of the way through "Look Me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger's" by John Elder Robison (Augusten Burroughs' brother), which is... very interesting. I was going to say "mostly bad", but that would give the wrong impression. I think you need to read it to understand what I would have meant by that.)

The Evolution of Ordinary Things, by Henry Petroski. The engineering behind the paper clip, needles, sandpaper, etc. Kinda quirky....

Debt of Bones by Terry Goodkind. A shotrt story that is part of the Sword of Truth series. It's apparently supposed to be read sometime before or after Chainfire, the ninth/tenth book in the series... Wonderful series.

I read part of a book called Mind Wide Open by Steven Johnson, its basically a book about the brain and how it works, but its written in terms that other people besides shrinks and brain surgeons can understand. It has a little bit to say about autism. Apparently the human brain is preprogrammed to use facial features to get an idea of what is going on in the other persons' mind, kind of like mindreading without the ESP element. Autistic people are "mindblind" - their brains are incapable of performing mindreading as a subconcious process like NT's, so they do it as a conscious process, which takes up some of their focus. Think of a normal persons brain as a computer with a network port that automatically sends and recieves data; whereas an autistic person's brain also has a network port, but the computer's user has to manually "point and click" data to send and recieve. Anyways, I didn't read much, but it seems interesting.
