Hot Chip - Ready for the Floor

try this as well ---> http://www.myspace.com/imdels listen to a track called 'Lazy', then 'Myself Malfunction' which is underneath it. It's a collaberation between Hot Chip and a guy called Dels.

i just wrote this about it... "Many words have been written about the lack of a big unambiguous floor filler on the current Hot Chip album. Now we know that they did not neglect to produce one – it’s just turned up late and under someone else’s moniker. ‘Lazy’ announces its arrival with bold, shimmering synth washes, before a quick, clean drop – suddenly it’s all bass – buzzing bass and a totally intuitive, instinctive rap that asks nothing of the listener other than their willingness to dance. Coming in at an unsatisfying one hundred and fifty seconds (! !), it’s a relief that the b-side, though punishing, is equally thrilling. ‘Myself Malfunction’ feels more awkward as a collaboration, what with the production side finding its finger glued to the pitch bend and suffering from a compulsion to vocoder, and the vocal side abandoning its lazy outlook and backing you into corners, fists raised and clenched, with it’s sudden aggression. Nice to find a b-side take that shows a harder or more progressive side to the artist rather than being a diluted version of the a-side; thankyou Dels, Hot Chip and Moshi Moshi*."

*moshi moshi is the record label who are putting it out, I'm slightly obsessed with their work.

Not a big Hot Chip fan, but "Made in the Dark" was OK
