Not a great fan of Slade, but I've always had a bit of a soft spot for this one, which came towards the end of their early 1970s heyday. Noddy Holder (lead singer) and Don Powell (drummer) look as if their heads have been stuck on to the rest of their bodies with glue or something...

In the mid 1980s Sandie Shaw made a bit of a comeback, a couple of decades on from her 1960s glory days. This song had some sort of connection to the Smiths, I think, but I can't remember the details. Decent performance anyway.

Mmmmm.....British pop music was beginning to lose its appeal for me by the early-mid 1980s, but there was still the occasional decent performance, such as this.

Hazell Dean, encore une fois. Only just realized, more than three and a half decades later, that her first name is spelled that way. Introduced by yet another 'disgraced' British DJ, in this case Dave Lee Travis (DLT).

Difficult to find a decent performance of this song, and this version has typically tacky early 1980s TOTP visuals, but its power and quality still shine through here.
