Yeah, John Lennon was a big fan of Elton, when he broke into the industry, 69, 70. He talked about him positively. When he was making a name for himself. Elton is quite talented piano player in a live setting. Energetic. Of course I've only watched videos.

Yeah, i forgot Lennon and Elton actually performed together. I might have seen that. Now i'm reminded of the George Harrison playing MSG. Famous concert for Bangladesh refugees. I've seen that. Ive seen practically everything the beatles ever did. And alot of their post-beatles stuff too. I've been a fan of them for years.
Same year, same place, Muhammad Ali was knocked down in his comeback.

Elton:
When I was young I heard a few Elton songs in a row on the radio. I thought it meant he had died and they were doing some kind of commemoration. I had one of my first / biggest panic attacks and locked myself in the bathroom crying because I was afraid to hear it confirmed. Then when I found out he was OK I developed a fear of him dying and tried to imagine when it would be. I'm still kind of stressed about when that day will happen because it will bring back that memory.
Lennon:
I was 12 when he died. Lying on my stomach watching TV late at night. The news people interrupted the show to say he was shot. We were all in disbelief. My parents hosted a Christmas party shortly afterward and I locked myself up in my bedroom crying. I was upset that no one else seemed to care, although I'm sure they did.

Married at 6. Widowed at 7 ? Elton john really must have been special to you, to react so strongly. (You really are a sensitive soul aren't you! ) I can't think of anybody making me react that way. I feel sorry for many celebrities, usually years after the fact though. Cobain. Hendrix. Morrison. Etc. (a sick, feeling of sadness, and feeling sorry for their families, and the loss of what they could of become and done is the extent of my feelings..)
Yeah Lennon dying is senseless and tragic. It must have really struck a nerve with alot of people, the beatles being as big as they were, "BIGGER THAN JESUS" even.
Beethoven famous Piano Moonlight Sonata reversed. Changed around. Recorded summer of 69. The actually last Beatles album. Let it Be was January. I told you, I 've forgot more about Beatles, than most people ever bothered to find out.

We were married until I was about 13. Then I divorced him and married OZZY.
My friend married Gene Simmons, who was the best man at my wedding.
My other mad obsessions in early childhood were Art Garfunkel and Jim Henson. Peter Criss too actually lol.
I did a school project about the Beatles the year JL died, but just prior. I wish I could find it. I have all my other primary school research projects including ones on Dinosaurs and Archeology. I remember the smell of my parents' early Beatles albums which were still in the plastic wrap, but carefully sliced open. They had those ones with the squares on the front - the happy albums.
This is my "birthday album". I only listen to it once a year, on my birthday.
I won't listen to this song now because it's not my birthday but it's one of my faves too.

Your friend married Gene Simmons? say what? lol. I get it, figuratively.
Vinyls were already out of fashion by the time i started listening to music. It was cassettes and CD's. Though i found some vinyls at home as a kid and used them as frisbees outside. Then returned the broken peices. ( I didn't really know what they were)
I heard beatles very early on. Elvis too. Might be some of the earliest music i ever heard.

I'm sick and tired of hearin' things From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocrites All I want is the truth Just gimme some truth
I've had enough of readin' things By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians All I want is the truth Just gimme some truth
No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of Tricky Dicky Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me With just a pocketful of hope Money for dope Money for rope
I'm sick to death of seein' things From tight-lipped, condescendin', mama's little chauvinists All I want is the truth Just gimme some truth now
I've had enough of watchin' scenes Of schizophrenic, egocentric, paranoiac prima donnas All I want is the truth now, now Just gimme some truth
All I want is the truth now Just gimme some truth now All I want is the truth now Just gimme some truth now All I want is the truth Just gimme some truth All I want is the truth Just gimme some truth All I want is the truth
For Magna - Missing you.

John Lennon post Beatles work is by far my favourite of all the Beatles, followed by George, then Paul, and lastly...Ringo. I might switch Paul to last though. I don't really like Wings all that much.

McCartney is good when he's with the Beatles. I Like some of his Post Wings work. But Post beatles he just doesnt have the gravitas that Lennon provided.
I know Some people felt that McCartney was taking credit or downplaying Lennons contributions in his absence. Long standing controversy. I think Lennon is a better songwriter, Mccartney obviously more technically gifted.

Pre LSD Beatles and Post LSD Beatles are like two different bands.
