John Lennon last studio Recording. Hit Factory Studios. NYC. 4:30PM. Monday, December 8th, 1980.

He had released "Double Fantasy" album, Nov 17 1980. After a 5 -year break from music.

Lennon were working on one of Yoko’s compositions, a New Wave-ish disco number called “Walking on Thin Ice,” which they planned to release as a single.
The basic track had been recorded during the Double Fantasy sessions in August, and Yoko had done a master vocal

Producer, Jack Douglas wrote:
We just listened to it over and over, we were so happy with it,” “By 10:30, we’d finished listening back to it. They wanted to get something to eat. John was going to head over to the Stage Deli and get some sandwiches, and then go home. We were going to master ‘Thin Ice’ as a single the next day. Normally, I rode home with them, but I had another project to do. I just said ‘so long’ at the elevator. The last thing John said to me was, ‘See you tomorrow morning, bright and early.'

^Do you like Yoko's music? I posted one of her songs earlier. I think she made some amazing albums. "Mrs. Lennon" is one of my favorite songs.

Continuing the theme.

Image
The group and Botnick organized a makeshift recording studio at their private rehearsal space, the Doors' Workshop, a two-story building at 8512 Santa Monica Boulevard.[19] They could then record in a more comfortable and relaxed setting while avoiding the expenses of a professional studio.[20] A mixing console previously owned by Elektra was installed upstairs in the Workshop, while studio monitors, microphones, and keyboards were set up downstairs. To compensate for the lack of an isolated vocal booth, Morrison recorded in the bathroom doorway, singing into the same microphone used on the Doors' final tour.

Not sure what was the last track. Might of been Riders on The storm.

Early Sunset Sound Demo. Located On Sunset Blvd. Where first two albums were recorded, 1966, 1967.

Quote:
The Doors’ longtime producer Paul Rothchild famously quit on the band during the recording of L.A. Woman referring to the new songs as “cocktail” music, which created an opportunity for the band to relocate to their rehearsal studio to record the album themselves with longtime engineer Bruce Botnick. This is the earliest known recording of “Riders on The Storm,” recorded at Sunset Sound Studios

Of course he would go back and overdub a whisper track. Along with congas.

Final studio vocal track.
