"Court of the Air", by Stephen Hunt. An awesome Steampunk novel. Try it - it's good.

Finished "Court of the Air". Now I'm on "Perdido Street Station" by China Mieville. Another Steampunk-ish. Gotta love 'em.

lol, reminds me of the time that I saw Art of War being sold in the "motivation, personal self-help" section or something or rather.

Always amazed at how people might get inspired by words such as "Always camp up stream from an enemy. Poisoning the river so that it flows to an enemies camp can mean the difference between victory and defeat" and other such things like attacking form high ground or the correct employment of spies and assasins could help people overcome shyness or eating disorders, or get ahead in the business world.

Actually, if you take the symbolism in the words and cross apply them, it can easily be a "self help" book.

I will never understand how someone can read more than one book at a time. It dilutes the experience of the rest, in my opinion.

Disagree. Reading multiple books infuses each with freshness when you switch over and provides contrast to better see what is being said.

The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment by Tsong-kha-pa
Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver

And hang in there with the Tolkien, Fudo... I didn't get a lot of it the first time through, but I got enough to enjoy the story and I, too, loved the writing. I've read the trilogy 4 times now. :)

Just curious: am I the only person here who has read "War and Peace" from cover to cover?
