i prefer willie dixon's cover of howlin' wolf's version of "back door man."
i prefer dave dudley's 70s remake of his own "6 days on the road."
i prefer the blues bros remake of willie dixon's "hey, bartender!" [their version rocks the house!:dj:]
i prefer stuart hamblin's version of "this ol' house."
i prefer the blues bros version of the chips' "rubber biscuit." [dan ackroyd can spit out syllables quicker than anybody other than that federal express guy]
i prefer elvis' version of big mama thornton's "hound dog."
i prefer BS&T's version of "god bless the child."
i prefer solomon burke's version of "somebody to love" [although the blues bros version rocked well]
i prefer sam and dave's version of "soul man" [the blues bros murdered that song]
i prefer the marvelos original version of "yes i do" [the j.geils version was perfunctory]
i prefer boy george's version of "the crying game." [blue-eyed soul at its best]
i prefer the band's version of "the night they drove old dixie down."
i prefer betty everett's version of "you're no good." [never cared much for linda ronstadt's voice]
i prefer the mamas and papas version of "dream a little dream of me." [so sentimental]
i prefer the esso trinidad steel band's version of the kinks' "apeman."
i prefer ELO's version of "roll over, beethoven."
i prefer george jones stereo remake of his original "why, baby, why?"
julia louise dreyfus [such a talented woman] sung a wonderful version of "so nice" on an episode of "seinfeld."

Both are excellent choices. For some reason your mention of Disturbed's cover reminded of Seether's version of "Careless Whisper," which I like better than the original:
