http://www.last.fm/user/Sanity_Theorist - Note: some of the stats are off because some I listen to more on my computer and some more on my Walkman.

I also am working on a band right now named Leviathan...we have a few videos released on my Youtube channel, some of me, some of the guitarist and an interlude done. Link is below:

Thank you! It's the results of setting high standards for my library while remaining open minded.

The signature line is from fear factory...first one is fear campaign, second one is about what Christploitation is about.

I tend to stick to the old-school of traditional/thrash/death/black/doom/power/gothic/folk and a little bit of glam and progressive metal. The core stuff isn't my cup of tea, but i don't mind at least 4 bands of the core genre.

For one, I tend to stick to that too - but I still enjoy core.

Anyway, I think brony metal would actually be a very interesting movement myself, lol

Someone mentioned metal not being able to express somber/subtle emotions.

Might I recommend Agalloch's "The Mantle" album? Probably one of the most somber albums I've heard.

The only metalcore band I'm really fond of is Psychostick. Especially around the holiday season.

I’ve been listening to metal for 15 or so years and a lot of my favourite bands clearly try and bring a very ‘hateful’ feel to their music, stuff like Der Sturmer, old Graveland, Profanatica, Havohej, Sarcofago, Ohtar, Veles, Angelcorpse, Revenge etc.

I tend to think genuine hatred can sometimes add to the passion of creating music itself, not take away from it.

No you’re right, but for me there’s no denying that a lot of good ones do.
That being said I'm a fan of other less hateful bands too, Maiden, Agalloch, Death, Nocturnus, Mortification, Kvist, Primordial just to name a bare few.

I love when metal players cover show themes for fun...another favorite of mine is Megadeth's version of the Power Rangers theme songs.

Metal fans that play only angry music bug me...there should be more range to their writing if that's the case. That being said, a pissed off song works nicely at times.
