Jamesgoodie, you express a desire to see Manson tear society apart at the seams, do you? You depend on that society to exist. Especially with a spectrum diagnosis. If society were torn apart, no more Anime. No more video-games or Pokeman cards.

if society falling apart means no more Pokemon then that might be a sacrifice i'm willing to make.

in seriousness, perhaps i should've said "status quo". that would've been more appropriate.

I dare you, and anyone else to watch this video in it's entirety and continue to say that Manson is a corrupter of the innocent

The video reinforces some of the things I already believed. Marylin Manson, in the wake of Columbine and Virgiana Tech, plays the victim card. Everyone picks on me, they all hate me, etc. Also he claims to be misunderstood by a world of bigots and idiots. How tragic. How hard can it be to understand Marilyn Manson? If you are against what he represents, you "just don't understand." If you're a fan of the music, you're genius enough to "get" the whole thing.

I am so not impressed by MM.

People blame school shootings and teen murders on all sorts of random s**t. Before MM it was Judas Priest (who won the case) .. Metallica... Ozzy.. going back years. Funny thing is, people f**k people over all the time, and its amazing how many DONT listen to Slayer. I'll wager that Herr Fritzl doesnt own a single single by Black Sabbath, and look what he got up to. The good money says that Ian Huntley didnt own a Marylin Manson album. Thomas Hamilton, the Dunblane school gunman, a 43 year old ex-scout master categorically had never seen Iron Maiden play.

How do I know? Because if they had, the press would have made a huge thing about it. Noticeably, their musical tastes have never been questioned or investigated. I'm thinking that's because blaming murder on music is frankly ret*d.

I do not agree.

I think blaming murder on music is the beginning of something, like creating a chemotherapy for the cancer eating away at society. The beginning of healing much pain and suffering hidden away, rationalized away. Shining a very bright light on it. This rot is being defended and propogated by ignorance, spread around like AIDS. It's no less deadly and even more alluring. It is digusting how supposedly smart people will defend this disease. People who are clearly intelligent will help it spread to new areas and cause more misery, pain and death. Will it have to happen to you before you sit up and notice? You all know what I mean.

And how pray tell do you explain the millions of music fans listening to "proscribed" music who DONT kill? How do you explain the hundreds of thugs, killers, rapists etc who listened to regular everyday mainstream music? How do you explain the millenia of killing before the 40 odd years of what could safely be called rock music? The comparisons you make would be insulting, if they werent so farcical. Marylin Manson is like cancerous AIDS in your brain.. ROFL.

You try to divert attention away from your beloved minstrel with irrelevant comparisons. Why does MM hide his face behind clown makeup? To attention-whore so obviously and yet never show his face in public? The man behind the glammer, Bryan Warner, seems to be hiding from the world and himself.

Give up Slowmutant, you can't win this argument. While you clearly see Manson as 'teh abominashun in teh face of Gawd!!11' because you're silly enough to believe those silly myths that he peforms autofalatio on himself (OMG he must be teh Debbil!11!5) and that anyone who likes his satirical portrayal of American life is a gun-toting maniac. WHy don't we look at other music genre's for a moment.

Fristly Rap. From what I have heard (which admittedly is very little) some rappers are happy to sing about shooting people in cold blood and treating women like objects. While not all rap is like this, there are still a element of mysoginy and thug-life permeating rap culture to an extent.

Next, a personal favorite of mine, Norweigen Black metal. I find it laughable the Manson, a comaprativly tame artist, seems to strike you as the epitome of evil. In the 1990s, members of the True Norweigen Black Metal scene went around the country burning churches and in some cases murdering people. The worst Manson has done is been made an honorary member of the LaVeyan Church of Satan. Band like Dimmu Borgir, Old Man's Child, Mayhem and Gorgoroth actually persue a deeply Anti-Christian agenda and completely embrace satanic beliefs and practice those beliefs in thier performances. Compared to Mayhem, possibly the most hardcore black metal band ever, Manson looks incredibly tame.

You're right, Vorzac. Marylin Manson is a choirboy.

If Marilyn Manson is the devil... lol Ghey as hell. What exactly is there to be afraid of here? Scary songs with nasty lyrics? Try some Cannibal Corpse, or Deicide. Or, as my mythos-looking compatriot has said, go to Norway. And you fail miserably at giving good reasons why metal is evil. Go to the back of the class. Do not pass go. Do not collect 200 dollars Canadian.

I pray for the day that someone kills a hundred people in murder frenzy, and listens to N-Sync, Britney Spears, or Take That, or some other mainline s**t that is considered acceptable.. thus blowing the whole "Rock is teh satan" COMPLETELY out of the water... Though now I think on it.. thats already happened because THOUSANDS of people are murdered every day and NONE of it involves Marilyn bloody Manson.

Marilyn Manson doesn't scare me, but he bothers me. His image just strikes me as extremely negative, and it worries me that a lot of teens are following what he preaches. It's not the anti-Christian part, but the ripping up of bibles and the sheer ignorance of it all. If you don't believe in Christianity, fine, but don't disrespect other people's beliefs.
