ZX: I like both though I notice the 150-200hz range comes in hot and heavy when the tunes are in lowpass mode. Great if you like it like that but if you ever decide to put automation on an EQ to soften that'd probably be the place to touch up.

OTOH with Circus, you had the corners of that bass nailed down real well. I've been trying to get my basslines in that range now where they've got both melody and woofer-shovel without too much drone on one end or too much boxiness on the other.

Slick. You sound like you're somewhere between Tom Petty and the guy from I Mother Earth (more the later on the composition).

The Framework is fantastic. Love it.

Edit: Also Fingerwoods has a fan.

Some Farmer Tech' produce, proof that I 'might' be at ZX's skill level some day. :)

I'd love to put some bass videos up here at some point, but no recordings of my playing exist...that shall be changed tomorrow.

Your basslines, lyrics and delivery are great. Reminds me a lot of Andrew Weatherall, Two Lone Swordsmen and BDB.

I've really struggled with Drum 'n Bass since around 1993, I used love Dr S Gatchet, Randall and Kenny Ken.

There have been a few bits and pieces I've liked over the years, stuff like Klute's Part of Me and Subwave's Stars Get Down, but nothing to get me fully into it again, and the Dubstep I like would be people like Scuba, Joy Orbison and Boddika. I like Lazer Sword, are they Dubstep?
I really like that remix you did for Sunchase, though. That's great.

Thx.

One bit of self-criticism I have for my new track already - highs and mids are good but my lowend is still a mess. I've at least figured out how the pros can make the mids and highs sort of 'thin' and translucent, I've just gotta get that same work done on my low end. I think I'm starting off with way too much of it quite often which means that the whole balance of the mix is wrapped around masking from that - really too big a mess to go back later on once the mixdown and EQing are dialed in.

Nice. I remember my cousin had one of those. Got any external effects racks or stomp boxes you like to use?

I got rid of almost everything. I kept a Boss delay, but I use that mostly with my turntables. I use NI Guitar Rig for effects. The Space Echo emulation on that is amazing.
