Thanks - an excellent selection of Bach pieces.
The Netherlands Bach Society is superb, as is their series All Of Bach.
To have all these glories on tap, for free, through YouTube is utterly amazing.

I finished a cycle of the St. John Passion recently, a favorite, as is The Magnificat; lots of fiery Bach trumpets!
The sheer sensuousness of the aria quia respexit in the Magnificat, with the weaving of an oboe and a soprano, is remarkable and like listening to a whisp of smoke caught in a breeze.

A recent YouTube rabbit hole had me finding this which turned out to be quite moving, like gentle breathing, and not what I'd expected. The lyrics are available under the video on YouTube.

John Tavener - Funeral Canticle. Academy of Ancient Music · George Mosley · Paul Goodwin · Andrew Manze · The Choir of the AAM.

"And now for something completely different"

For newbies (and not-so newbies) to Wagner's ring cycle, here's a funny - but accurate - breakdown of the whole thing from Anna Russell.

I'd forgotten how involved I once was with The Ring - it was a bit of a special interest some years ago.

I’ve been enjoying Bach, the NBS and their channel tremendously. I still feel like I have a lot to learn because I’m pretty new to Baroque music, but it seems to be becoming a new special interest.

I think it’s moving, too. Sometimes I can understand why folks believe in God/God’s presence.
