If there’s one quote that I can source as my reasons for the fundamental change I’ve gone through in the past few months it’s this quote, the message is powerful and simple. Overcome your self-pity/self-loathing, overcome your fear, and keep moving forward on the road of life. For the longest time I didn’t do any of those things. I knew what I wanted but I was too held back by my self-loathing, fear, and laziness to make it happen. But the more I looked around and saw the state that my life was in though, the more this quote flashed in my head.

Eventually I reached a point where everyday this quote burned in my brain and I couldn’t take it anymore. So in January 2015 I began redecorating my room and began keeping it clean. Then I began to care about my body; losing weight, grooming, etc. Then I overcame another laziness and began cooking, something I had wanted to do but couldn’t bring myself to. I’m not only a different man than when I started but I think I’m better for it too, but I could be wrong ya never know until it’s looking ya in the face. But still these things wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for that quote and for that, Fullmetal Alchemist is, and always will be, my favorite show of all time.
