there seems to be a problem embedding. it is well to watch the linked videos in 720p. let it buffer up to see it unhaltingly.

i calculated the pattern and played the score (by elton john) in my own way.

I loved all your picks, and I agree with you on all you said (not sure why you think everyone hates you though, I must have missed something)

I just wanted to comment on this particular video because this is exactly the way music plays in my head. Visually, I mean. Amazing. Following it with your eyes open while your brain does the exact same thing in echo is a weird feeling, I loved watching it.
ETA: in reference to the other thread about not reading music: this is the way I write down a piece if I come up with one, btw. I may use the lines on the music sheet, but I'll put little dots referring to the way it sounds, not the actual notes.

I LOVE COUNTRY !

In fact, Im a bit of obsessed with Country and Western/Folk music. I read books about it all the time and like memorize the history of it. I am from Virginia, so I grew up on Country music. I even write Country songs and perform Country music! I don't see how anyone cant like Country? Its amazing!

I dont like Loud Noisy Rap or Rock music- that is not music. Country music is really neat because it has so much variety and I love the story telling lyrics and the acoustic sounding instruments more. I love Country music. Its my favorite. I also like some Classical and some Pop music - i.e. Frank Sinatra, but Country is my all time favorite. Especially Western Swing

My favorite Country singers are: George Strait, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams Sr, Marty Robbins, Jim Reeves, Suzy Bogguss, (some) Garth Brooks, Lyle Lovett, Bobby Horton, Ray Price, etc. Im not as much a fan of "Modern Country" its gotten as bad as Rock music. Like I said, I much prefer SOFTER music because I dont like Loud noisy music. I can't relate. I love Country music.

Rock and Pop music are really horrible, but Country music is amazing If you dont like Country, you aren't a true music lover or can't appreciate good music. Unfortunately, I meet very few people who share my love of Country music. They just don't know any better.

I never could figure out exactly what style of music I like, I like a mix, but recently I discovered a love for Classic Rock(particularly around the 70s,) and that was sparked by watching Supernatural where they play a ton of old songs, a lot of it classic rock.

So I'm still trying to figure out what bands I DO like, but some I know include the Beatles(if you consider them rock), Led Zeppelin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Kansas, and I like some AC/DC, and there are more, but that's just a couple. =)

OMFG there is so much I want to say on behalf of metal...Well at least my metal. Unfortunately my words will fall upon deaf ears but I might as well give it a shot. Everyone on this site hates me anyways so it's not like I have anything to lose.

Basically, there is a LOT of things that people don't understand about metal and music in general. People think it's for enjoying and relaxing and to provide an atmosphere in the background at parties. If Beethoven or Bach heard someone say that they would stab that person in the neck with a knife. Music can be all those things to the modern non-musical human, but to a musician it is their life. I'm not talking about those phonies making money off of ret*ds suckling on the teat of the mainstream or losers who learned to play a few chords and decided to start a band. I'm not talking about those people who play crap generic (Thrash, Black, Old School/Brutal Death, Power)metal. I'm talking about REAL musicians. Musicians who understand theory and how to implement it on a technical level with an instrument. Musicians who can comprehend a divine sonic creation. Think about it this way, When you mass produce something you get an extremely crappy product of the lowest quality. That is what the big record companies are doing.

Listen to this song written by a man who enjoys making music, not money. Listen to the musical side of it. Don't listen to the distortion, but the notes and the harmonic and melodic phrases they create. Don't listen to the growls, but the story the singer/growler is trying to tell. Listen to it with open ears and if your hearing is over sensitive then turn the frikkin volume down. I'm listening to music at around 60 decibels right now and still enjoying it. If you don't normally like music, then don't listen. Just listen to it!

Also, here's some old school Progressive Death Metal and you better believe it:

And Some Old School Melodic Death Metal:

This is the way I view things. I don't care what you think about it, I just want you to get the message.

While I have a similar taste in music and agree that said attitudes towards are quite offensive to the time and effort said composers put into writing their compositions, I disagrees with the assessment that technicality is required for an engaging listening experience. Some people manage to make plenty interesting music that's made for active listening with a just a few chords just fine. Anyway, people get different things out of music. For example, some people find metal to be just noise or emotionally dead, and while I disagree wholeheartedly and often think some of the music they like is emotionless, they have their own opinion. While some forms of metal do take heavy influence from classical they are not the same thing.

If you want to start a fight I suggest you keep that attitude up. I don't care what music you like, what I have a problem with is your straight out intolerance of other people's taste, especially the sentence in bold. Your tone is condescending, and while I'm sure you know lots about Country, you've shown great ignorance about Rock music and thus hypocrisy. Looking from a purely objective standpoint, the scope of Rock is far greater than that of American Folk, so saying Country has so much variety does not stand as a mark against Rock. Rock often has story telling lyrics as well. Preferring acoustic music is a valid point, but that's your opinion, not everyone agrees with you. I think the sound of the electric guitar is one of the most beautifal sounds in the world. And yes, there is softer rock music, there is even softer metal. Apparently this is a metal song, though I think it's more Post-Rock:

I don't know what you mean by softer music, that's relative and means something different to everyone. Hard music is just as much music as soft music is. Rock uses the sense of sound to convey artistic meaning just like all other forms of music. It makes full use of traditional musical structures like melody, rhythm, harmony, timbre, and texture. Just because you don't like a genre doesn't mean it isn't music. You make a claim that true music lover would love Country, but a musician which I also quoted said something contrary. You can't both be right. I say neither of you are correct, different people have different tastes in music and saying yours is the only good one is nothing save pretention. I'm not a big fan of Country as a whole, but there are some Country songs I like. I believe I've given Country a fair chance, I just prefer Rock.

Anything that contains either odd meter, tempo change, key change, or interesting/unusual basslines or drum fills can be regarded as music I enjoy and hyperfocus on.

What else is there-but Justin Beiber?

If it isnt Justin Beiber it isnt music!

Future historians will say that the only significance of Mozart, Louis Armstrong, Elvis, and the Beatles, are...that they all lead to Justin Beiber!
