Stereolab - Transient Random-Noise Bursts with Announcements

I don't know if you're aware of this or not, but this Stereolab album is quite close to being a retread of the first NEU! album, which came out about 23 years previous to it.

FWIW, I've been listening to

The Birthday Party - Junkyard
5IVE - The Telestic Disfracture
Hardingrock - Grimen
The Jesus Lizard - Liar
Seven That Spells - IO The Death & Resurrection of Krautrock ll

Thanks for the recommendation, Factory Ten!

And Fogman, no, I didn't know that. I have a friend who is very into Neu!, but I don't have any of their albums. I'll have to check them out.

A night of music for me:

Elvis Costello - Spike!
The Fall - The Wonderful and Frightening World of . . .
New Order - Low-Life
Van Dyke Parks - Song Cycle

The best three New Order albums are:

1. Movement

Almost sounds like I'm going in chronological order lol.

Those are great albums. I have all the albums up through Technique and enjoy all of them, though I think I prefer the singles to the albums. Particularly "Touched By the Hand of God" or "Here to Stay."

A hard rockin' band from Australia who's influences include AC/DC, The Angels, Billy Thorpe and Rose Tattoo.

This, especially "Stress." I've been jamming to this and drawing comic pages.

Artist - Album - Year (youtube link contained within)
---Favourite tracks

Linea Aspera - Linea Aspera - 2012
---Favourite tracks: "Synapse", "Lamanai"

Quote from their label's website:

Quote:
"Linea Aspera’s sound includes clear influences from early electronic body music, classic synth-pop and, in some instances, industrial and noise. Lyrically the band incorporates the sciences of osteology, neuroscience, and anthropology weaving a new medical language around themes of desire, despair and renewal. Linea Aspera serve up an icebox of dark doom riding on Alison’s powerful vocals with a soft but sharp touch."

Alas that I can not describe it as well as that quote, I really enjoy the vocals and the exclusively electronic music - they certainly wouldn't sound out of place in the 80s.

Accelerated Evolution by Devin Townsend is amazingly beautiful. I'm going to put yet another recommendation for Aenema by Tool.
