Thanks for your kind comment several pages ago. This video seems more poignant with the tragic backstory:

Shostakovich is one of my favorites and a search for similar composers brought me to this:

Kind of obvious:

Do you like the rachmaninoff prelude in c?

Mao Asada used a more epic arrangement:

Epic version music only with no figure skating commentary:

^^Thank you very much. Do you like this kind of music? There's no doubt that all you posted are great and great pieces. :D And 1st and 4th ones have been my favorites! You choose the right musicians!! They are the best for that pieces IMO. I planed to post Rachmaninoff's pieces later in my favorite order. I have 4 of them in my mind and C Sharp minor is one of them. I like 3rd one in a different version better than you posted..I'll post that later.=)
I don't like 2nd one for unknown reason...=)
Anyway thank you..and I wish you have a great day and night~~

I only post things I like. Anything else would take too much effort. Most of what you posted is cello and piano, did you study either of these?

What do you think of this?

I'm most familiar with violin because my daughters play. What do you think of these heavier violin pieces?

Do you like this better on piano or violin?

Wow, you nailed it. I liked all of them!! Thank you very much.
The first one was my least favorite but still good. But I definitely know I'm going to listen to the rest of your choices over and over. As for your last question, I immediately fell for Yuja Wang. I liked piano version a lot better.

I used to be really obsessive about playing piano in middle school. Then this passion suddenly disappeared. I rarely play piano these days. Believe it or not I had only listened to classical music or christian music until high school by my will alone. I only started listening to so-called PopSongs in my uni. So there are a lot things that I don't know about in music world. I like to catch extreme passion and genius in classical music. It doesn't matter which instrument they play. I like K-pop waves as well.=)

Naughty Boy - La La La ft. Sam Smith

Na na, la la la la la na na na na na
La la na na, la la la la la na na na na na
La la na na, la la la la la na na na na na
La la na na, la la la la la na na na na na

Hush, don't speak
When you spit your venom, keep it shut I hate it
When you hiss and preach
About your new messiah 'cause your theories catch fire

I can't find your silver lining
I don't mean to judge
But when you read your speech, it's tiring
Enough is enough

I'm covering my ears like a kid
When your words mean nothing, I go la la la
I'm turning up the volume when you speak
'Cause if my heart can't stop it,
I find a way to block it, I go

Na na, la la la la la na na na na na
La la na na, la la la la la na na na na na,
I find a way to block it, I go
La la na na, la la la la la na na na na na
La la na na, la la la la la na na na na na

If our love is running out of time
I won't count the hours, rather be a coward
When our worlds, collide
I'm gonna drown you out before I lose my mind

I can't find your silver lining
I don't mean to judge
But when you read your speech, it's tiring
Enough is enough

I'm covering my ears like a kid
When your words mean nothing, I go la la la
I'm turning up the volume when you speak
'Cause if my heart can't stop it,
I find a way to block it, I go

Na na, la la la la la na na na na na
La la na na, la la la la la na na na na na,
I find a way to block it, I go
Na na, la la la la la na na na na na
La la na na, la la la la la na na na na na,
I find a way to block it, oh

La la, la la la la la na na na na na
La la na na, la la la la la na na na na na,
I find a way to block it, I go
La la na na, la la la la la na na na na na,
La la na na, la la la la la na na na na na,

I'm covering my ears like a kid
When your words mean nothing, I go la la la
I'm turning up the volume when you speak
'Cause if my heart can't stop it,
I find a way to block it, I go

I'm covering my ears like a kid
When your words mean nothing, I go la la la
I'm turning up the volume when you speak
'Cause if my heart can't stop it,
I find a way to block it, I go

Na na, la la la la la na na na na na
La la na na, la la la la la na na na na na
La la na na, la la la la la na na na na na
La la na na, la la la la la na na na na na

I am posting in this thead, so I must be Drawyer. Drawyer is a person who enjoys deep, dark string music. Seeing as I am Drawyer, I know this. Because of this, I, Drawyer, may want to check out the swedish Key Harp (Nyckelharpa). It is melancholy distilled and cast in the form of a string instrument. As Drawyer, I already know this. Excellent.
