AC/DC "Dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap." I used to think they were saying, "Dirty deeds in the dunder jeep." I knew they were from Australia, and assumed a dunder jeep was some sort of Australian off-road vehicle driven around the outback.

More interestingly is when I get the lyric correct but someone hears something else. Something that actually makes sense, but I never heard it wrong:

In the song "Blue Monday" by New Order, the correct lyrics are: I see a ship in the harbor / I can, and shall, obey
My brother thought they were saying: I see a ship in the harbor / anchored in shallow bay

Though I myself never misheard this lyrics, his mishearing actually sort of made sense in context.

Theme to Good Times:

Actual:
Keepin' your head above water,
Making a wave when you can.

Misheard:
Keepin' your hand in the water,
Making your way when you can.

"I don't speak French, so I'll let the ****ing music do the talking, talking now...."

(It's "funky." Of course it's "funky".)

From "People are People" by Depeche Mode.

Misheard Lyrics:
People are people, so why should it be
You and I should get along so awesomely?

Original Lyrics:
People are people, so why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully?

Misheard Lyrics:
Peekaboo people, oh, why should it be?

Original Lyrics:
People are people, so why should it be?

Misheard Lyrics:
So we're different colours
And we're different breeds

Original Lyrics:
So we're different colours
And we're different creeds

From "Policy of Truth"

Misheard Lyrics:
Now you sit there drinking Tom's Totts. (It's a brand of champagne.)

Original Lyrics:
Now you're standing there tongue tied.

Misheard Lyrics:
It's too late to change your bets.

Original Lyrics:
It's too late to change events.

Misheard Lyrics:
I'm the coliseum shrewd

Original Lyrics:
I'm the policy of truth

A song which has been used on a lot of YouTube videos lately. The chorus has the line "Let me be myself," but I keep hearing the third word wrong....

Misheard and actual lyrics taken from the 1982 'Toto' song, 'Africa.'

Actual lyrics from Toto's Africa: "As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti."

Misheard as: "As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like a lepress above the Serengeti."

Another notable feature with this awesome song (with the above lyrics). The lyrics seem quite wordy to read (let alone to sing) - yet these seemingly wordy lyrics were sung beautifully!
