Diss on the songs, people, not on each other.

I personally have no problem with rap and hip-hop, but it's the ones with the absolutely horrible lyrics I can't stand.

I heard a rapper today say "I'll chop you up and feed you to the poor" ....

And that song "grills" got on my nerves really bad.

People think when I say I hate rap, they think I'm a racist.

i find music about personal problems irritating, i know a lot of music is about personal problems, therefore i dont like a lot of music, but especially bad pop music about personal problems. get it? to me, eminem is bad pop music that gets played too much on the radio. whoa that is so hard to comprehend isnt it? and i didnt say anything to contradict myself, but you sure did, and you suck at arguing, but if you find my opinion of eminem confounding, that is what is really sad. even sadder than you liking his asinine lyrics. hahaha why are eminem fans so defensive? oh well thanks for the well wishes

yeah exactly. i like rap, but good rap. eminem is crappy pop-rap. but if i make fun of him for stealing an image ooo that makes me racist. then i get some dippy girl trying to get smart with me, and defending the great disgrace to rap that eminem is. the only comebacks i get are "you might be racist" "whatever" "bring it" and "you just contradicted yourself so many times". uh except that i didnt. and even though i said up front why i cant stand him "you havent given one good reason why you dont like him". daamn we can read cant we?

I actually hate eminem myself. I hate all rap music, and anything that sounds like it.

I just don't understand much your reason of why you care that he copies a stereotyped image. Wouldn't all rappers copy that, by your logic?

well then, now that eminem is out of the way, lets talk. well i dont like "angst" in music, unfortunately thats what a lot of music is, feelings and such, so i ignore the lyrics if the instruments are played well enough. usually they are not so im picky about what i listen to. i like a little bit from a lot of genres. anything from punk rock to heavy metal to folk rock or reggae or rap. i have favorite bands from each genres and my favorite bands just happen to not sing about their personal problems. ooooh wait no i have to make an exception. i like morrissey and the smiths. they sing about personal problems but mostly its the melody i like, and the sound of morrisseys voice.

eminem and a lot of hip hop artists arent what they pretend to be on stage. i dont like how they play that image, i just happen to dislike him more than most other rappers. some rappers really are what they rap about, and those are the ones i like. they just dont get much radio play. not poppy enough for the masses i guess.
