Hate Japanese music in general and the bands you mentioned are influential but now one of the worst in their respective genres I think.

X japan and Gin Blossoms are still pretty good, and No Doubt is trying interesting new styles.

I used to really like Spiderprints. Can't recall them well now, remember I used to listen to tragic Kingdom a lot though.

I figure this could be fun.

AC/DC
Beastie Boys (early work)
Crush 40 (formerly Sons of Angels)
Guns n Roses
Iron Maiden
Jonathon Coulton
Kiss
Kix
Korn
Magna-Fi
Maximum the Hormone
Metallica
Motley Crue
Ozzy Osborn
The Pillows
Powerman 5000
Quiet Riot
Ratt
Scorpions
Sins of a Divine Mother (This band does not exist anymore. Only 4 songs and
NO albums)
Twisted Sister
Van Halen

Just to reach an understanding about my taste in music, read my post titled "Don't Tell Me What Music To Listen To" and I better NOT find another person using the term "old people music" to describe music even if it was performed, released, and charted forty-something years ago to 24 HOURS AGO. Seriously, I've met people with that kind of attitude and they are the worst kind. There is no way music made yesterday can be called "old people music."

Not old people music, just music that is kinda influential and was expanded on far better in the future I think. Some good guitar players in there, but I don't really go for those.

Speaking of odd music taste for your age...

Since I'm listening to In Flames right now, anyone else think they are kinda lost right now?

Most of those bands are too abrasive for my tastes. Fear factory, however, I give a lot of credit to for helping popularize industrial metal. "Grindcore" bands like Agoraphobic Nosebleed are just crap though.

When someone uses the word "abrasive" on my music, I tend to think about this:

and the thought quite excites me.

:thumright: for listening to Rush. for listening to Linkin Park.

There are very very few bands on your list that I like at all. I am not a fan of scream heavy metal bands, which seems to be most of them, of what I have even heard of anyways(Stuff like Mudvayne and Slipknot, ugh). But there are some decent things thrown in like Nirvana, Alice in Chains, STP, and Pearl Jam. I can get behind some grunge.

My taste in music, mostly tends towards classic rock, a bunch of 90's stuff, and very little modern music. I consider Rush's 2112 to be the best rock song ever.

Other bands I love include, The Beatles, Metallica, CAKE, Flogging Molly, Faith No More, The Offspring, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Electric Light Orchestra, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Tenacious D, Mumford and Sons, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, The Traveling Wilburys, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden, Guns n Roses, Them Crooked Vultures, Elton John, Billy Joel, The Eagles, Chuck Berry, Dire Straits, Bob Seger, Alien Ant Farm, Journey, Meat Loaf, Queen, Styx, System of a Down, Violent Femmes, Ween, and so on.

Also, there are ton of cheesy 80's one hit wonders that I love, and the only good country song ever written is The Devil Went Down to Georgia.

Linkin Park is a band I love some songs and hate others by....not sure why they are so high up. Short songs I guess. My dad is also a huge fan so he bought a lot of albums by them....I thoroughly hate their new material though. They got whacked by the hipster stick. Big fan of Qwerty and the Hybrid Theory album/EP though. Considering sorting through and removing the less interesting songs.
