I have a new favourite artist currently making music today. Her name is Karin Dreijer Andersson, one half of Swedish brother-sister duo 'The Knife' and the driving force behind the solo album 'Fever Ray'. The aforementioned album is my hands down favourite of 2009. This album could be described as an amalgamation of Kraftwerk, Bjork, Aphex Twin, Imogen Heap and... maybe Toto? But that description hardly does justice to her originality. Onstage, she incorporates theatrical and thematic elements through immaculately designed costume and facial paint. Basically I think of her as everything Lady Gaga is claimed to be but is not:
