I don't know what it is. There are so many sub-genres these days. Is it derived from drum and bass at all? Do you have any tracks to recommend?

Here's a site you might like: Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music.

I looked around and couldn't see anything about Dubstep!
Going on the info on the Ishkur site, my favourite sub-genres under Jungle would be Experimental, Atmospheric and ... Liquid Funk (!)

I used to quite like dub music, but I'm not so keen these days. (I understand it sounds particularly good after taking certain substances that I prefer to avoid.)

if you like mid 90's DnB and jungle. it has that kind of vibe, not like later

its really heavy soemtimes but its a more diverse music genre and its very fresh and creative

check out Coki, benga, caspa, Joker and ginz, on youtube youll

yeah...that last post on dubstep went on forever. Found I was actually a fan of 'shoegaze'...whatever than means (they're just tennis shoes, it's not like they do anything...;)

I was there in when it just broke through into the underground, around 2006, Leeds being one of the big three players after Croydon and Bristol. It was fascinating to watch a new scene develop, taking its first steps after years of development to formulate into a conscious genre.

I get the impression it kept evolving but Leeds still seems stuck in the 2006/2007 vibe. Haven't been to a good dubstep night in about two years.
