This is my most favorite piece of kinetic art, it lets you touch it without touching it and you can get inside it. And the sound it makes is so soothing..

i was a little skeptical about a "wooden" mirror but hat was actually pretty amazing

WTF?? How does that work? The closeups didn't really demonstrate to my satisfaction what the actual phenomena is that makes it appear to do what it seems to be doing, which is - er- I have no idea. But it's a cool effect.

Or am I being naive and gullible and the whole thing's CGI?

Here's how I'd wager it works - that little tube just above center which is visible in closeup is camera connected to a processor which activates servos which tilt the little squares to change how they reflect light.

It has to be computerized and camera-feed controlled, there's no other explanation.

Something tells me those are going to be on their way to mass production pretty soon, along with favorite football team colored blocks, mini Guiness or Yager signs, etc... definitely a bar toy.
