Hi. This is my poem. So without further ado, members of the Wrong Planet society I present to you...

Dylan's Outpouring by Jim Witter

I am Henry Tudor, I am Patrick Bateman
I am mocked, I am funny

I am a Manic Street Preacher
I'm Bonnie Tyler

I'm a dragon unfurling winds
Breathing fire

My most familiar friend
Is the owl

I'm always graced with her scowl
Every night I hear the crows crow

Pigs muddy my grove
You sank my home, now I'm coming for your throat

I'll strangle you quietly
In your stupid sleep

In Kilkenny they'll spill an ale
Swedes will hold a mourning day

The French will eat French toast
And Russians and Poles'll share a Sunday roast

Are You Afraid of the Dark, Dawson's Creek
Ta ra now, may you rest in piece...

...es

sounds like something that'd be good set to bongo drums at an open mic in a cafe. :)

-pop culture references
-dramatic pause in between couplets
-creatively erratic rhyming scheme
-serious & deep but at the same time light & humorous

the only thing i might change would be to omit the word "and" before Russians.
2 "and"s in a line so close together take away from the smoothness of transitional thought
