I am 30, think I may have AS, and in a music conservatory, does anyone here have any experiences with AS and learning ear-training or music theory?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm somewhat talented. What exactly do you want to know?

Well, I wondered if anyone else was having an inordinately hard time with sight singing and ear training. I seem to have a very hard timet with it, and I usually get very good grades. This is very distressing to me since it's one of the only things I've ever really struggled with academically.

No, it came quite easily to me.

Solfege was super easy for me, it reminded me of algebra (C=do, D=re) and algebra is like breathing to me, i just do it naturally. I couldnt be "taught" how to read music though, i just started reading it without realizing its supposed to be difficult. Sorry, guess that wasnt very helpful.

Can't help you there.. I guess it would seem things like this really have nothing to do with whether you have AS or not. I have AS but have lots of natural musical talent. Ear training was no problem for me, because it really wasn't ear training for me, it was my already working ear answering their questions correctly and then moving on to the next topic.
