Hey guys I never used to draw that much but over this weekend I went and bought a sketch pad + tools and a how to draw anime book. I think its pretty fun to draw even though im not that good at it yet. I like to fixate on an object in the room and just draw it. Does anyone else do the same thing and does anyone else like anime and comic book art?

Hi! Spectre!

What's cool about what you discovered is that
When I learned to draw later in life(age 29) whilst
relearning how to take notes(Pre-G.E.D practice)
It opened other doors.

I hope this offers you a good floodgate of things
that can be expressed. I for example would
not have given myself creddence to even use
a camera and often admired others bold camera
use for videos(fanmade, music, ect...)

I then tried my hand at it on a cheap camcorder
and walla! So.....HERE'S TO YOU OPENING
DOORS TO A NEW SKILL.

Cheers!
Ghosthunter

P.S, I was 38 when i discovered the camera
and 29 when i discovered cartooning with
Caligraphy pens.

How old are you?
and what other recent talents have you discovered?

I love anime and comic book art, and try to do a lot of drawing myself. I just picked up the pencil again after a long hiatus, and find drawing very therapeutic, though my skills aren't anywhere near the level I want them to be.

Out of curiosity, what book did you get? I've looked at a lot of cartooning/manga books, but very few of them teach the fundamentals of drawing, and just go to specific genre elements. I'm trying to find something that's more about manga art theory, and less about copying illustrations of transforming robots and ornate weaponry and whatnot.
