Samantha Agnes liked this guy, Josh Hue, but he is dating, Daniella Stone, she had at least 2 abortions and slept with almost every guy in school! Samantha will do anything to be with Josh, even kill Daniella, but she doesn't want to go to prison. One night her and her friend, Sara Carter decide to take a trip to an abandoned church in the Pine Barrens. In the church Samantha discovers 6 books by the altar, when she picks them up the cross on the wall falls upside down scaring Sara. She looks at the books they each name a deadly sin Sloth, Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, and Lust, but not Pride. Sara says that her teacher said that each of those books raises a demon that eats the soul of certain sinners, (Demon of Greed, eats greedy people). Samantha puts the other books down and looks at the one titled, "Lust". Then she starts to walk out.
Sara shouts tries to stop her, but Samantha leaves her there and goes home and does the ritual to raise the Demon of Lust, Asmodeous. She does and of course he kills Daniella, so Samantha is happy, BUT he gets out of hand and kills OTHER lustful people like, UH-OH! Josh!! ! Then Samantha regrets raising this demon, but as for now he's not powerful enough to leave Brick, but when he is he'll just raise the other 5 demons, then when they are all powerful enough the will combine into the 7th demon, Lucifer, Demon of Pride!! !

Is Bricktown named for the area in Oklahoma City?

Yes, but it's also a place on the New Jersey Shore, it's my hometown.

26 characters? well...;)

With the increasing number of characters comes an increase in complexity. The audience is going to have keep track of all these people, unless some of them are 'walk-ons' (people with a single line, or just a few), and aren't essential to the story.

The plot sounds good; what you get in some movies is the main story, and a backstory; a 'b-plot' that plays against the original story. That should soak up some of the people.

No matter what you read past this post, remember, one thing that happens in most movies is that they get written, rewritten, etc, over and over. In some scripts, the revisions are color-coded, until you have a rainbow of revisions. The best people in the industry have to rewrite, several times. So don't get discouraged, you can do it, but it may take a lot more writing that you anticipated.

Lookin' forward to it.

That's interesting. In a class I took recently, we had a compare and contrast session between Bricktown and the Riverwalk in San Antonio.

Nah, they already did that in Hamlet (at least the Klingon version...;)

keep at it, and let us know how it goes; these things take time.

I finished the book version of it, it's over 23,000 words.
My parents read it and my mom said it was better than she expected.
:D

Very cool! Could you perhaps post a few opening paragraphs? :)

Believe it or not, I'm writing a screenplay too, but I'm stuck. Here's the thread:

http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt99081.html

Discussion related to the story, characters and themes are to be posted here:

http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt112362.html

P.S.: The plot synopsis given on the first thread is an early version of the story.

Anyway, about your screenplay... I'll try to make this as kind as possible. Its not terrific, but if you let yourself get attached to the story, new doors can be opened. Your characters become deeper, themes pop up, and the quality of the writing improves. Just make the story more personal, and it will probably be a cakewalk.

depending on how well it's made and the directing, it might turnout pretty good :) .
however i can easily imagine this as a b-rated movie on the sci-fi channel  .

though some parts are questionable. such as why are they taking a trip to an abandoned church :? ? and why are such apparently dangerous books there, and in modern america no less?

the redeeming part being that the 6 combine into pride, the 7th, seems a rather interesting idea.
although lucifer, in truth, beyond the fact that he may have daemonic attributes, was nonetheless a fallen angel. Sort of hard to imagine 6 fallen angels fusing to form lucifer realistically.
i think it would be better to go with the Dante's Inferno version of things and instead of them becoming him, rather, once they've acquired sufficient power, that they may free him from his icy prison, hell's terminal plane.

also since pretty much everyone lusts, you'd think the lust demon would just go on an all out killing spree.

and what kind of teacher knows obscure lore of demonic summoning offhand?

these are all facts you have to hammer out and explain somewhat to avoid it turning into a script for a B-rated movie on the sci-fi channel.

I wholeheartedly agree. Her plot needs significant improvement.
