Who is a fan of R&B from the 80s.

Examples: Midnight Star, Atlantic Starr, Starpoint, Patrice Rushen, Stephanie Mills, etc.

Never heard of them.

Do Milli Vanilli count?

No, they're more pop/dance than R&B.

Whitney Houston has some '80s R&B songs as well, and perhaps due to her crossover into pop (and Bobby Brown? ) is more widely known.

By the way, I think Anita Baker has absolutely stunning vocals. :)

I suppose they could...at least when they weren't lip synching.

If it's a crossover, it still counts.

I love Chuck Brown.

I like Midnight Starr, Shalamar, Micheal Jackson, Prince.

The best male soul singer ever was Teddy Pendergrass ( part Luther, part Otis,-raw and smooth at the same time).

Michael Jackson won favorite soul/R&B male artist at the 37th annual American Music Awards show. His brother Jermaine accepted the award.
