I don't really buy the notion that bands from different nations must be better at playing different kinds of music according to their nationality. I also will definitely not listen to enough black metal bands from Sweden or Norway to definitively say "yes, Norway is better".

Out of my favourite black metal albums I think two are from England, two are from Sweden, one is from France, one is from Switzerland and the other four are from Norway. That said, Norway has got a lot of press for second-wave black metal (I think Mayhem's notoriety may have been a decisive factor in this) so a large portion of the black metal music I've heard has been from Norway.

I just saw marduk live about 2 weeks ago, I'll have to go with sweden.

It's hard to just pick and choose, european countries are metal masterminds. Finland I think has by far the best metal, though.
