Maybe it's because I didn't explain myself properly?
The 1001 journals project is where you can start a travelling journal off which will pass from one person to the next by mail. Each person will add something to the journal and get to have their own creative input before passing it on (maximum 2 weeks). This is just one example as there are other types of journals but I won't get into that. You can also choose to participate and sign up to be one of the people passing the journal to the next. There are plenty of travelling journals listed and many have a theme which is written in the description. There are no sign up fees but you're responsible for postage costs when shipping to the next person.
The original idea behind this started with the 1000 journals project when a graphic designer launched 1000 journals out in the world to be passed on from person to person. There is actually a book published now (called 1000 journals) and there's a film too. So the same dude created www.1001journals.com to give other people a platform to do a similar thing.
This week I'm sending 'An Aspergian Journal' to the someone in Sweden and I'm also sending 'A Vegan Living Journal' to someone in New Jersey. Hopefully more people will be interested enough to sign up to either one. It would be great if they could get around the world and back.
