I know it's common for AS individuals to struggle with writing. I do, even though I'm good at it. It's not the same as writer's block or lack of imagination; it's having to pause after every freaking sentence and having to think how the next one should get written, for about 5 minutes or so. It feels like I'm walking through a tangled web, or a maze. Does anyone else here have this, or had it and overcame it? If so, how?

Thanks to all who will comment.

Yeah, totally. When I put the effort in, my writing comes out straightforwardly enough. But if I don't, everything comes out backward and confused, with lots of weird sentence construction. I also have a problem with knowing where commas want to go. I guess practice may help, but it's not really something to be overcome as it's all about how your brain is wired to process this stuff.

I know that feeling. I think in my case that it is me trying to get the perfect sentence out. One strategy I have been using for essay writing is the free write. I skip the introduction and conclusion and just write whatever comes to mind about my main points. I found I can get a good quality essay after some revision using this method. There are still problems with fighting perfectionism, but I am getting better.

Well, I'm not writing a-list stuff, but I'm in a productive phase; just finished a 103-page story.
i just do most of it in that small space between sleeping and waking (or being in the shower, driving on the freeway, and anywhere else your mind is on hold...;) I just imagine how things happen, then write down what happens next.
Don't know if it works; it's divided between 'no more' and 'why no more?'...;)
