I've been hunting around for a good book on social skills for people with Aspergers, preferably one which doesn't centre around sprogs! There are so many books for parents you'd have thought people with aspergers died at adulthood or something.

I just ordered a book called "Social Skills for Teenagers and Adults with Asperger's Syndrome: A Practical Guide to Day-to-day Life" so I'm going to see what it's like. There were others such as:

"The Unwritten rules of social relationships Temple Grandin - Sean Barron autism asperger" just seems like waffle. She talks about her life story a lot.
"Autism for dummies" - Has some serious potential, I'm getting into this one.

I'm really looking for anything else which is instructional and teaches you something. Does anyone have any other suggestions please?

My personal bible is Sun Tzu - The Art of War. I am a pacifist, but the lessons of this masterpiece can be applied to everyday situations, and it does not espouse violence as it's name would suggest. A little more metaphorical then the standard self-help books, perhaps, but it has made life a lot easier for me

Perhaps something more along the lines of self-help, psychology, or sociology I was thinking.

I am an auditory person so I'll share something that's helped me.

I used to listen to a podcast called PickupPodcast from the Art of Charm and I like the topics they discuss. It may seem amateurish for some because their aim is to get guys who have never been with anyone the tools to date the girls they want and not settle for whatever comes along, but they speak from a plethora of experience in Social Dynamics. Their guests are some of the best from the pickup-artist community, those advanced in social dynamics and how to understand and read groups and individuals in a very social environment, and very helpful image consultants.

Here are two examples on two topics(click on links below):

1.) Advanced Toolbox part 2- Grading social value #53

2.) Inner Confidence #109

Hope that helps.

Woo! Haha. I praise that book, too.

I'm in the middle of this book, and I'm finding it helpful. I regret not reading it sooner.
