I'm currently writing a prequel type story to JC's Titanic. Jack is NOT in it at all. Sorry, I don't like Jack.

Is there anything you think I should add to the story?

Explain what happened to Rose's father, and develop a relationship of some sort between the two.

Reveal whether or not Rose was a bitter person even before she became engaged to Hawkley (or however you spell his name). Has Rose been bitter all her life or did she actually lead a happy life before becoming engaged to him?

She meets Hockley after he runs into her. They fall in love at first, but then he gets all jackass and controlling. I make Cal's father molest him, that's why he's like he is.

it is too easy to write off Cal being a jackass to being molested. Look up Social Darwinism on Google, (A discredited social theory which states that the level a person rises to in society and wealth is determined by their financial and genetic background).see why in that era social classes felt entitled to use and discard people of the 'lower' classes. He bought Rose, (and Rose's family sold her to him) That takes far more privileged a social mindset than molestation, as Rose's family are of the same mind set to agree to deliver their daughter to Cal.

maybe both. Considering it was the maiden voyage of the ship, and they meet on board, maybe the prequel could be the backstory...

Titanic II - the ghosts of those who died frolic about in the ruins of the ship below the ocean.

Rose makes a great conspiracy about killing about 1500 people. When she hangs on the back of ship, she doesn't want to commit suicide, but she checks if her little damages through the steel are ok
