Does anyone else write a weekly music chart i've been doing it since I was 13 it is one of my favorite things to do maybe everyone on the site should do this and we could tabulate a wrong planet top 10

I'm more into pop than anyone I know.

really? with a few exceptions, your tastes seem to be similar to my own indie/alternative tastes.

Anyway, I do this with the videos available on my cable's OnDemand service. Obsessively. I should stop.

That's a cool idea. I used to keep a crapload of statistics about my music collection, but none of them were of that nature. I don't listen to enough new music every week to keep a weekly list of favorite songs - though last.fm does tabulate the songs I listen to most every week, that's not the same thing.

Heh, I do it for the month. But only for the most played, it happens to be White pearl, Black oceans by sonata arctica for this month.

Well, I don't think I could possibly do that. For one thing, I don't know what you mean. Do you mean your favorite songs this week? Do they have to be new songs? Do they really change that fast? And how can you pick a favorite, list so many in order like that? I don't really get it, I guess. My mind doesn't work that way. I know some people here have incredible memories, incredible reasoning skills. I'm more in the category of people who have to read and reread a recipe that they've made 50 times before just in case they forget a step. I forget people I grew up with. So I couldn't make a chart of songs without huge amounts of study and more information on the criteria that makes these things belong together on a list in a certain order.

yes that is my chart for may 30, 2009 every week my tastes change a little bit although the top 3 are the same this week. every now and then an older song appears back on my chart. some songs stay around for a long time like "guilt by the long blondes" it is #23 and has been in my top 40 for 50 weeks. I guess I was really into listening to casey casems top 40 as a kid and started doing them myself, since some songs I liked didn't hit #1.

well, this is all good stuff. I've been tabulating these to check out new stuff. I get really tired of country, which is all I hear around here, and could use some new music. really miss that sometimes...

I use internet to listen to music almost exclusively. everybody has a song that appeals to them. does anybody have a top 40 all-time, or even a smaller list can be fun. Vh1 does countdowns like this quite a bit.

this is the bad thing about saving your your charts forever you will be ashamed at some of the crap you enjoyed at one time in your life. # 5,17,22,23,24,26,40,41,43,49 are not songs I would ever want to hear again.

strange week only new song was a you tube video from 1987 (#19) star spangled banner. the only dropout was "issues" by the saturdays the song spent 19 weeks on the top 40 peaking at #22.
