:( Can anyone explain what the song "Don't Stop Believin'" actually means line by line or section by section? Thanks :)

It's a Journey song; you could probably do a search engine search for Journey and poke around for the bands lyrics, and get the words that way.

Good luck!

Its about lonely people, superficially drifting, hooking up, but never finding a fulfilling connection.

Its telling them not to give up, to keep believing that love is out there.

That's all the meaning there is to it. It's an anthem for barflies.

You have to keep in mind that a lot of pop songs are written 'backwards' - first the musician finds a catchy musical hook, then writes lyrics to fit the rhythm and the melody. They often make very little sense, it's not like they're actually trying to tell a coherent story (though some do), they're just painting abstract pictures with broad strokes and vague imagery. I remember watching the Beatles documentary 'Let It Be' years ago and being surprised to find that in their early rehearsals, the words to songs I knew and loved were completely different than what I'd been hearing for years, and many of them were just drug-induced gibberish. :P

Thanks Willard ! :) My son wants to sing it in a talent show (he's 12). I saw the lyrics and didn't think it was appropriate even though the tune was nice. I'm trying to get him to sing something else. He hates Rap and Hip Hop so I don't have to worry too much.
