It seems some of you don't have an understanding of what the word 'techno' actually means. Techno is a Subgenre of electronic music. It is not a catch-all phrase for dance music in general like most people seem to think it is. Thus, most of what is mentioned in this thread so far is not techno. Techno would be artists like Umek, DJ Rush, Chris Liberator, Misstress Barbara, Chris Liebing, etc.

I think the more appropriate question for this thread is "does anybody like Dance/electronic music?" not techno. Sorry for being nitpicky, but this kind of thing irks me sometimes.

I agree, it's a bit annoying when a person says "ooooh i love techno" but it turns out they're on about Scooter or something (which is more Eurodance/Happy Hardcore than anything)

that said, I haven't been able to get into a lot of techno (as in the subgenre). I like Pantha Du Prince and I liked a couple of Audion tracks and a couple of mixes that I heard, but I've not been able to get really into it..

To me, anything that sounds electronic and has a repetitive beat is techno. Besides, the vast majority of people won't know what the heck you're talking about if they ask you what kind of music you listen to and you say something like "I like Happy Hardcore".
