There's this unusual 35 year old. I think she's supposed to be a woman, but I'm not really quite sure. She looks like a man, almost. This rebel bucks the system of the traditional gender roles, as well. Not only that. She prides herself on something that she didn't accomplish. That thing isn't being on the Spectrum, but the thing is, the fact that she's a spitting image of the very young and very "healthy" Mick Avory. She also doesn't want a cure for autism spectrum disorders. In fact, if the opportunity comes, she might want to have kids - little clones. The world needs more autism, right? She's also a "healthy", raunchy little Kinks Fan, in a world that puts thinness and Top 40 on a pedestal. This rebel bucks the system called, Mainstream Society, every chance she gets, because she doesn't like to be told by the Status Quo, what she can and can not do. In the Spirit of The 60s, CockneyRebel!! ! :D

Thank you. I get sick of people feeling sorry for themselves, here and hating their differences. :)

I think that for each piece of writing that brings people down, there should be one that lifts people up. :D

For a second there, I thought you had run into your "doppelganger"! :o

I think you are the first person I noticed on this site, because I really like the Kinks too. I was fortunate to see them perform several times in the 70's (in the US & in Europe). Once upon a time, I had all their (vinyl) records. (Gave them to an ex-bf when we split up, along with my other 200+ albums, in exchange for our mutually-"owned" pet, who was my best friend.)

I'm rabidly obsessed with a musical ensemble myself, but I don't want to name it because I want to hang on to my anonymity here, so I can be completely honest and not worry about it coming to haunt me! When I hit my early 30's I started thinking about having children. Single parenting is the way to go, for me. I'm so incredibly attached to my kids (it actually far transcends how I feel about my other obsession, which I didn't think would be possible, I've been into this band for a very very long time). I don't like having to consider another parent's input (i.e. my child's other parent). Even if they are wonderful, comes a time there will be a disagreement and when one of my babies is involved, ouch.

In conclusion, I think you are awesome. I wish I had the confidence to really let myself show to the world, but I've been shoving down my weirdness for so long, I don't know if it will ever be possible. Well, hopefully I can let some of "me" out of the cage soon. Before I leave this "cage" (body) forever.

I should bloomin' well hope not! Given Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi's former gargantuan cocaine addictions, their endless recycling of hackneyed twelve-bar blues riffs and the latter's dodgy hair transplant, I hardly think they'd make very good moral arbiters.

Btw I also like the Kinks - "Village Green Preservation Society" is my fave album of theirs.

I hate to rain on your parade, but I've seen pictures of you. You don't look anything like Mick Avory.
