My favorite artist of all time is Goya whom I think represents a merger between the gothic and subversiveness/political activism:

I enjoy artwork from the Renaissance, 15th-century in particular. I also enjoy Japanese woodblock prints. There are so many pieces of art from both those categories that I like that I couldn't put them all into one post.
