I liked the Liquid Tension Experiment (their side project) but don't really like Dream Theater

I recently discovered them. I quite like Hell's Kitchen and Stream of Conciousness.

Dream Theater, along with Nevermore, are my favorite prog / power metal bands.

Dream theater is amazing! Extremely well engineered music, very deep, and well composed. I have several of their CD's and every time I listen to them, I catch something different in the way it was created. Dream Theater I have found out however is not music you can listen to as background music while doing other tasks (which I find hard to do really with any music) Instead, you must put it in, close your eyes, and tune out outside distractions, and just enjoy to the deepest extent!

I've been enjoying dream theater since around the time of Images & Words (92-93). An amazing band. Of course they wrote a song specifically related to Asperger's......Solitary Shell. It's part of a multi song album about a bunch of different neurological disorders.

I find it interesting that people with asperger's typically don't follow popular trends in music and the media, instead they like to listen to what makes them feel good, instead of conforming to what the media says is cool and what we should be listening to.

I'd imagine people with AS can also relate to the Rush song Subdivisions. what do you all think?

I've loved Dream Theater for years. They were my introduction to progressive metal.
