First stanza to the J-rock song Howling by Abingdon Boys School (and my latest ringtone):

The night sky full of cries
Hearts filled with lies
The contract, is it worth the price?
A soul pledged to the darkness
Now I've lost it, I know I can kill
The truth exists beyond the Gate!

(This whole intro paragraph is a reference to the anime Darker than Black, of which Howling is the first opening theme.)

Never really thought about it so it takes some effort to compare.

Hinder's "Get Stoned" comes to my mind but technically it's the second line not part of the first. Cold always could open a song well and Remedy starts with "I don't love how you love". Going a bit darker Lamb of God always comes in heavy with stuff like "Pray for blood" in the song "Walk With Me In Hell", "Somewhere between an excuse and a lie" in "Pathetic", and "Blank stares from broken men" in "What I've Become".

Yeah...no definite answer today.
