I have a long story behind this but I dont wanna waste you guys time. I had a revelation last night. For months I have long considered writing a fictional novel relating to autism. However I tell stories far better in pictures than I do in actual words. Even fanfiction has become harder and harder for me to write.

However after writing a long email last night to a person who was offending alot of autistic people and having to explain to him why it was offensive, I realize that maybe this was more my calling. Perhaps I need to step up and use my own experience and my knowledge of NTs and AS to explain the conflicting perspectives from both sides. Being around NTs my whoel life and beliving for the first 18 years of my life that I was socially normal allowed me to gain some knowledge of how NTs are. After my diagnosis, I became more fascinated with the things regarding myself that are associated with autism (especially chatting w/people on here).

So I'm wondering if this may sound like a good idea for a book...I dunno if it's original but look at it this way. We have a billion books by NT parents writing about struggling with children w/ autism. How many books are out there written by autistic people to counter these people (in a professional manner)?

Let it be known that I am not a professor or an expert. If I write this book, my main concern is that I really dont wanna tell my life story. In fact I feel it's a copout when a person turns their life story into a book and I'm a very private person. I dont even want my name featured if such a book were ever published. The idea of this book is to help NT people understand us more and perhaps vice versa.

Which leads me to my next challenge. I have no idea how the book should be set up nor do I know where to start. I dont really read much nonfiction so it's difficult to determine how to lay this out.

Thanks for the help.

Project your experiences and thoughts through imaginary characters in a real world scenario, if you don't want to write an autobiography.
