lol metalcore

I listen to some death, some thrash, recently getting into more of the classic heavy metal. Also like stuff that's just really slow and heavy, like Isis, Ahab, and Nachtmystium.

Metalcore, lol. This thread won't last long.

Anyway, I prefer mainly black metal, like Nivathe, Unholy Matrimony and the Ruins of Beverast.

Nor is Guns N' Roses, either.

And... err... lol metalcore.

When we're talking about Metal, I prefer the stuff from the 70's NWOBHM (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, etc...), 80's Thrash Metal (Megadeth, old Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, etc...), and 90/00's Progressive Metal (Dream Theater, Opeth, etc...)

Kind of affixed to Megadeth's Rust in Peace album and Dream Theater's Images and Words and Awake. One song from each:

It is for this reason I want long hair. :3
2 favorite metal lead guitarists from each song (Marty Friedman, John Petrucci)

Metal is Dio and King Diamond, and not glam metal, like Twisted Sister and Motley Crue. Anything besides old school isn't metal at all. 70s and 80s or die

Megadeth's strongest album in my opinion was in 1990, and the 90's had some nice metal as well, on one hand there was Pantera, on another hand, there was Dream Theater, which is basically a mix of 70's Rush and 80's Iron Maiden, though they (Dream Theater) were a 90's/00's band. And Opeth (post-90's progressive death metal) is pretty much amazing.

Slayer, Venom, Megadeth, early Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Sunn O)))

Celtic/Pagan metal; Cruachan, Finntroll, Alestorm, Waylander, Primordial

I used to listen to Slipknot & Cradle Of Filth when i was younger, but not so much anymore (and I went through a Limp Bizkit phase in my early teens, but we all make mistakes :P  )

Too bad that's not really metal?

As for me, I like Unsun, Edenbridge, HolyHell, Black Sabbath, Manowar, Flyleaf, Winter In Eden, Sentenced, Sirenia, etc...

I like anything with an overdriven 6 or 7 string. My preference is Death and Black metal. Necromare, thats it!

I'm going to stay out of this since everyone's going to get their panties in a wad over what's metal enough anyways. I like some of the heaviest s**t around but I like the more common and softer stuff too.
