Which do you prefer:Hip-hop or Rock? I choose both.

And when you finish choosing put your favorite or favorite songs.

hmm.. grew up on rock, but hip-hop gets more play now.

megadeth have stood out as the rock band i keep coming back to over the years, but overall rock seems (ironically) repetitive to me now, whereas hip-hop allows IMO for a much free-er range of musical expression, emotional intensity and especially lyricism.

this track wanders all over the place conceptually but there are some truly jaw-dropping lines in there.

I like both, but the stuff that I listen to isn't the stuff that has top 40 appeal. For Hip Hop I like stuff like:

Dälek (who are heavily influenced by stuff like Yo La Tengo and 70's era Krautrock:

as well as Mr. Lif.
