I wouldn't really call Primus a metal band so much as a band that's had metal moments (Too Many Puppies, Frizzle Fry, Lacquer Head etc.)

Korpiklaani are probably the happiest metal band I've heard. Most of their songs seem to be about booze.

Is it my imagination, or did yesterday this thread read funk metal recommendations.
At least this is the way I’d read it.

Just try and check out a lot of the more popular power metal and folk metal bands as much of this stuff would probably qualify as “happy" and is very uplifting..

Even in metal's darkest domains (genres like black metal) there are bands that I find to feel somewhat uplifting at times..

Drudkh's entire "Autumn Aurora" album is brilliant and has a very warm texture to it imo...

Folky black metal bands like Nokturnal Mortum, Arkona, Temnozor and Pagan Reign are quite uplifting IMO.
