A piece of prose of a scene from an episode of the science-fantasy web series I'm working on, titled The Dispossessed. Here, one of the main characters, Nika, uses some rather brutal tactics to try to convince a young man not to commit suicide, but his fate is ultimately still left in question.

Note: Contains strong language.

I liked it, very memorable and compelling.

I liked the situation you put the characters in - a man caught in the act of committing suicide, brought to drop his gun and then fear for his life just moments later. I thought it was a good scene.

Though I was left wondering what that lady was, some kind of superhuman? Alien perhaps?

Glad you asked. :D

She's Valichnasch; the closest being the universe of The Dispossessed has to demons. I could go into the universe's culture and history some to explain more, but you might not find it all that interesting without basis, and I don't really want to give a way plot points, even at this point. It would definitely get covered in the show, though, if it ever got produced.

And just for kicks, here are how I imagine Nika and Kai to look, for the most part. And yes, I know I chose Edward Norton as Kai. I have no idea who the woman is for Nika- I forgot to note her name when I found the picture a year or so back. I think she's from one of the Nordic countries, if I remember correctly. And not an actress.
