I know I sure as hell am! I've been listening to her since age 7 (or 6?) and still adore her music to this very day.

It's a shame she died when she did, I would've loved for her to make more music.

I'm also a fan of hers. She was very talented. She also had a great voice.

Another Janis fan here! When I was 10 my father took me to a concert with the Doors as the main band and Janis Joplin with Big Brother and the Holding Company as the warm up band, before they cut their first album. I loved her music then and still do now! She was for real!

"Fan" is a big word, but I do like me some Janis. Amazing how a gal in her mid-20s can have such a raw, seen-it-all-done-it-all voice. I've seen her quoted as saying she felt she didn't fit into the society of her hometown Port Arthur because she "read, painted, and didn't hate n****rs".

I bought a "Best Of" compilation earlier this year, and pumnped it daily as of date-of-purchase, until I soon gave the CD to my mother because she's a Joplin fan from way back.
