"Micalo Vera, it's a pleasure to meet you."
"To you the same, Doctor L." said Micalo.
"Four weeks ago the Riekart facility stopped reporting its progress, we believe there might be something going on." explained Doctor L.
"Something? What do you mean by something?" asked Micalo
.
"The twelve patients whose reports I have given you will help you to understand. These patients were put under complete isolation, they have been given large continous doses of aenethium, the drug prevents the brain from feeling all sensory inputs. The patients cannot see, they cannot hear they cannot feel, taste or smell."
"Three weeks ago we began to see promising signs from the patients, they began to draw identical diagrams despite the fact they were completely seperated." said Doctor L.
"How is that possible?" asked Micalo.
"The human mind is capable of more than you know." Doctor L. continued; "Two weeks ago, facility staff began reporting strange, intrusive and disturbing thoughts, these reports escalated until there was an incident that forced the program to be halted. intreveneous injections of aenethium were ceased a by remote consol. Alarms were activated to provide both sound sight and smell distractions."
Then something unexpected happened..."
"What happened?" asked Micalo.
"The patients began to adapt. They gouged out their eyes, scoured ears and their noses, and bit off their tounges." said Doctor L.
"What about pain? didn't the pain distract them?"
"Indeed it did, this was the thinking of many of the facility staff. However they began to operate on themselves. Using a hypodermic needle they were able to carefully sever specific nerves in their spinal chord. Shortly after this observation the facility went black, we have heard no reports since then."
"What happened?"
"We don't know, though we think the patients have been able to control the minds of the staff, also there were some reports that the patients are capable of telekinetic powers as well."
"How can I stop them?" replied Micalo
"We don't know. We have information that leads us to believe that you have special qualities that will allow you to undergo the training necessary to be able to nullfiy their influence on you." said Doctor L.
"Training? What sort of training?" asked Micalo
"Follow me into the chamber...."
