Hi everyone,

I'm a literary student with a passion for comics, a passion I could never really put into practice.

Recently I realized it might be interesting to add the comic book genre to my academic work, and to research it in classes (when possible). I've been reading into the current discourse for a while, and was wondering if any of you are familiar with the subject.

I'd love to know your thoughts!

Oh, no, don't worry. It's not an attempt at a career as a flashing academic specialized in comic books. I've picked up on the discussion about whether or not comics are literature. This spoke to me because I find it quite annoying that some of my professors have very strict views of what literature is and should be. I think comics are complex, interesting forms of storytelling that I could explore while being in college, that's all.

Why, did you try and succeed and become super rich?

Oh no, I don't really have an interest in comics. I was just hoping you realize that some jobs can be really fun, but then again allot of people really want them too, and there are very few such jobs.

It'd be up to your professors to decide if you could do it. Maybe ask and make sure the anti-comic ones aren't the people grading it!

No, I'm quite realistic and have an idea what kind of career I want. My specialization in my bachelor doesn't apply to this career, which is more general, and I figured I could follow a certain path that many walk down, or apply myself to something I take an interest in that is a bit unusual.

Yes, that's true. I'm studying literature in a specific language and am enrolled in general literary studies this year. The professors there are more open to unusual approaches, so I'm sure I can get my fill. Are you interested in it?
