"In The Ghetto" is a beautiful song and lyrically extraordinary for its time.

My favourite, though, is one that most people don't know, which is "I Just Can't Help Believing."

My favourite 3 Elvis songs are a couple of his earlier songs... "Stuck On You", "I Got Stung", and "Good Luck Charm". But I also agree that "In The Ghetto" is beautiful.

The entire album 'That's The Way It Is' that 'I just Can't Help Believing' is off of is amazing. Lots of great songs on there.

i have no interest in presley. as far as i know he did not compose any songs, and his guitar playing ability seemed to me to be limited to token strumming of simple chords.

i did not like the melody of any of his songs (except for one that i forget the name of)

i also have no partiality to his vocal ability (his vibrato was too fast and forced), and the timbre of his voice was not especially rich. i hated elvis movies and never watched more than 5 minutes or so of any of them.

his dancing characteristics were teachable to any fit person, and he was not mesmerizing to watch like fred astaire (a motor genius).

i do not understand the hysteria he created. i understand he was exceptionally good looking, and i think that was a major factor in peoples idolization of him.

tammy (my friend) used to adore peter cetera because he had (he would be too old now) an amazing voice, but she did not know what he looked like. when i showed her some youtube videos, she was majorly disappointed, and lost her attraction to his voice almost immediately.

i think that elvis presley had the opposite effect on women.

many elvis impersonators sing better than elvis did i think.

i am not an authority i know, and there is probably something in him i do not see.

presley in my mind was not musically gifted.
