The most romantic songs

What are your favourite romantic songs? Love is actually difficult as a writing subject because it's been covered so often, and it is easy to end up in cliches. However, every now and then you come across a song where it just works.

One song I find incredibly romantic, even after all those years, is "Breña" by A Perfect Circle. Calling your lover "My reflection" goes so deep, it is almost stating like you look in the mirror while looking at your lover, that you are such soul mates that you're like identical twins. I also love the line "So vulnerable... but it's allright"

Also, lately I am totally obsessed by the song "Wings" by Birdy. It is so lovely, with that chorus as a highlight where the other instruments kick in and she sings "In the moment we're lost and found, I just wanna be by your side, if these wings could fly...". "I just wanna be by your side" ; it's simple but so powerful, if you hear such song while in love suddenly those words sound a lot deeper and meaningful than otherwise. I like the whole atmosphere of the song but the chorus is ... I'd love this to be the soundtrack on the background when I first share a tender kiss with my future girlfriend. It would be like everything suddenly falling into place. It's perfect too while just laying in each others arms, just so happy to be together and feeling all warm in your heart.

My love for this song lead me to playing it about 35 times in a row one evening last week :oops:

Another one I adore is "Winterblue" by Heather Nova. Especially the line "to every life a light that shines ; to every heart a beat that's true". Beautiful in all its simplicity.

Hi. I like a lot of 80s and 90s music. One of my faves is Lionel Richie's "Hello." I also dig "Kiss is on my List" by Hall and Oates.
Those are just a couple that I can think of off the top of my head....but I love music, so there's many more that I sing along to on the radio.
