I consider myself to be a MAJOR fan of the rock and roll music genre. This includes (and IS limited to) the following sub-genres (yes they ALL count as rock): hard rock, heavy metal, punk rock, "classic" rock, pop punk (sort of), nu metal, rockability, southern rock, glam rock, hardcore punk, and progressive rock (in most cases). I love them all! Maybe not all the same, but it's all rock and roll to me and I like it.
Anything that's not among the above-listed categories - alternative, grunge, indie, pop, techno, post-grunge - does NOT count. Why not? Well just listen to songs from those genres, and compare it to those from the above-mentioned categories. See the huge difference? No? Well maybe we just have different tastes in rock music. Whatever. There is no actual right or wrong here anyway.
Bottom line is: I feel like rock and roll is slowly dying away from popular music. I, a devoted fan to rock, refuse to let this happen! >:C However, what can I do? I'm just one guy out of, like, 100 million - the majority of which do not care what happens to rock music. Cmon people, DON'T GIVE IN ON ROCK MUSIC!! !
Now don't get me wrong, I have NO disrespect toward any of the other music genres. I sure all the non-rock music groups and artists are awesome and just as talented as most rock bands/artists. For example: I may not like U2 for being so alternative and non-hard rock in it's style, but I do not doubt that the band deserves the fame and popularity it has received. It's just that I personally don't really like any of them (I do make exceptions here and there). All I want is for hard rock to come back to mainstream popularity, and for people to actually start listening to it again!
Who here is with me?
